Micaiah turned 3 yesterday (March 21). We celebrated with a swim party for all the other missionary families in Musoma. March 18 was Tessa's 3rd birthday, so we were able to do one big party together. I made a fish cake and Kim made a Frog cake. Both were a hit. Some of the ingredients may have been hard to come by here, but thanks to care packages we were all set!
As a random piece of Swahili trivia, the word for candy is "pipi" (pronounced pee-pee). So you do have to be careful when you talk about decorating a cake using M&Ms and other candy! Don't want anyone to get the wrong idea!
